Want to buy a belt for a special someone but you don’t know what size they are? There are two methods of measuring for the the correct belt size.
Method - B
Some belts are measured from the tongue of the buckle to the center of the middle sizing hole. (shown below)
If this is the case then you will need to add 3-4” to your waist size. (Not you pant size)
Method - a
Other belts are measured from where the leather wraps around the buckle heel bar to the center of the middle sizing hole. (shown below)
If this is the case then you will need to add 2-3” to your waist size. (Not you pant size)
Center Heel Buckle is shown.
Number of sizing hole and spacing can vary. (We can customize this)
Distance between last size hole and belt tip can vary. (3.5” is our standard)
Keep the following in Mind………………
First Rule: There is no set standard of measurement for leather belts.
Second Rule: Your waist size is not the same as your belt size.
Third Rule: The type of buckle can change the size of your belt. (See below)
Fourth Rule: The thicker the belt (not width) will fit shorter than a thin belt.
Buckles design can influence your belt fit………
Buckles come in an array of designs that will effect the fit (final circumference) of the belt. The difference in design can change the length of a belt from 1/2” to 1”.
Top: Heel buckle (Single Tongue Roller Style)
Bottom: Center Heel Buckle (Single Tongue)
Note the 1/2” difference from heel to roller.
Heel Bar buckles
These buckles tend to be the more common where the leather wraps around the buckle at one end.
Center Heel Bar Buckles
These buckles also tend to be common where the leather wraps around the buckle at the middle. These buckles tend to be square or round in shape
